Opportunity Knocks With FLW Canada

Opportunity Knocks With FLW Canada

Jason Greentree
The hopes and dreams of all highly competitive Bass Tournament Anglers is to be rewarded for and achieve the highest level of recognition in there sport. Having achieved wins at many different levels of competition from local charity events to our most recognized tournament trails here in Southern Ontario over the past 28 years I speak from experience.

Southern Ontario is the hub of Canadian Bass Tournament waters due to its demographics. This has created a dense core of extremely talented Anglers and with that a very high level of competition by tournament organisers to attract these anglers. Having been a competitor in many of these circuits since their conception I have a great respect for the dedication and promotional work it takes to create interest and growth for their events. I truly appreciate all the Tournament Trail organizers for the opportunities they have given myself and other competitive anglers.

An unfortunate reality in the Canadian Bass Tournament seen over the past years has been what could be described as a growth or opportunity stagnation for Canadian anglers. Thankfully that is now changing as new opportunities have emerged to truly reward and propel Canadian anglers to the world stage of bass fishing. One such opportunity is the FLW Canada Tournament Trail now entering its second full season. Together with the FLW circuit in the United States FLW Canada has created what is absolutely the best opportunity for a Canadian to compete as a representative for Canada at Forrest Wood Cup, the most prestigious bass fishing event in the world! If your fortunate enough to advance and win FLW Canada's final tournament of the year your Fast Track opportunity has been initiated. From there theoretically your challenge is to best less than 10 anglers in the international division of the FLW Costa Championships to earn the right to compete in the potentially life-changing event the Forrest Wood Cup.

After competing in their first full season I can tell you Cory Banford, and his staff have more than impressed me with their professionalism in overcoming the many adversities an organizer is faced with introducing a new Tournament Trail. I believe I speak on behalf of many Anglers new to the trail this year and those of us returning we are grateful to FLW Canada for presenting us with such an incredible opportunity.

I feel as a sponsored Angler of Rapala Canada for the past 20 years along with Humminbird and Gagnon  Sports, FLW Canada offers the best opportunity to give myself and these sponsors the maximum exposure they deserve.

Anxiously awaiting the season opener on big Rideau and I hope to see you all there!!!
